What's it like to live in Worcester Park?

Dear all,
We currently live in East London and have just found the most ideal school for our son, however, it is in Worcester Park. We love it so much that we are considering moving to that side though have no idea what it is like round there as we have never even been there.
We do plan on visiting Worcester Park and the surrounding areas but in the meantime I wanted to get your opinions on the area and what it's like to live around there.
Both me and my husband work in central London so we need to commute during the week and we don't know anyone from that area so are interested in knowing the type of people that live there and whether a community exists, that sort of thing?
Which areas specifically in that region are great for families with young children? Any opinion is appreciated, thank you!

I'm from not too far away and have a few friends that way. It's a very family-orientated suburb full of professional families. There's a large Waitrose and a bunch of shops/cafes/restaurants along the main road (nothing overly exciting but pretty handy). If you position yourself slightly more towards North Cheam, you'll be withing walking distance of Cheam Leisure Centre and library + the gorgeous Nonsuch Park.

Tricky for secondary schools. There are some arrangements with some secondary schools to take some Worcester park children but it's not really quite enough.

@Rad555 I've always lived in WP and North Cheam and wouldn't want to live anywhere else
Central London is easy to get to and the seaside/rolling green hills of the downs are just as close

OP, what school is it that you're excited about? And whereabouts are you moving from?

Meant to say nearly all the schools are brilliant, crime exists but I'm not scared to go out at night there and is low compared to London boroughs.
You have a great range of local shops, supermarkets and bigger shopping centres like Sutton and Kingston are really close. Slightly further afield shopping in Guildford is amazing as where I always Christmas shop.
There's Nonsuch Park on the doorstep and lots of smaller parks with play equipment for younger kids, Cheam park has a massive sandpit too.
Affordable areas are the Park Farm which is the streets behind Sainsbury's in north cheam or the larger more expensive home are on the Worcester park/stoneleigh borders.

@JoJoSM2 it's a new forest school primary school that has just opened in Worcester Park, and we are currently in East Ham

Looks like a very cool school. If DS is only little, there's a Forest School nursery in Nonsuch Park taking children from age 2. If you want to be very local to the school and have greenery around you, you could check out the Hamptons development in Worcester Park - a very unique place to live. Otherwise, it's mostly 30's semis with large gardens.
